Rambo Family 375th Reunion

Here it is!

What we’ve been waiting for! Just a click away!

One of the most significant aspects of the “2022 Annual Gathering” was the creation of a permanent record of the “Rambo Family 375th Reunion” made possible by the generous donation of The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Forde and Ron Beatty.

The donation also made it possible to create the first video tour of the Swedish Colonial Farmstead at Tinicum in its new location in Governor Printz Park.

We had a great weekend and now it is great memories of a once-in-a-lifetime event. Many thanks to all those who attended and those on the committee who made the event a great success!

In the weeks ahead we will be publishing photos from the event and work on the video has begun. Check here periodically.

We have several tote bags available for sale at $25.00 including shipping

The main event was Sunday, June 12, beginning with the Swedish Colonial Society’s Open House and Dedication of the Swedish Colonial Farmstead at Tinicum at its new location in Printz Park, Essington, Pa,

Through the generosity of a donation, a professional videotape of the Reunion and Dedication will be produced and it will include a generous audience sampling to include as many family and friends as possible.

At the Farmstead, we enjoyed displays, cooking and blacksmith demonstrations and all buildings were open to visit.

With a complete cast of living history re-enactors, we recreated the 1647 Swedish wedding of our progenitors in a program open at no cost to the general public. Peter was portrayed by professional living history actor and descendant Robert K. Rambo. Popular vocalist and “2015 Swedish American of the Year” Emily “IVA” Tepe portrayed Brita.

The keynote speakers at the Dedication were Ronald S. Beatty, author of the five-volume “Rambo Family Tree, 2nd edition” and Society Genealogist the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Forde Beatty who presented two topics, “Brita and the Women of New Sweden” and the Society’s DNA project.

Following the “wedding ceremony and talks” we dedicated the Swedish Colonial Farmstead at Tinicum. The Rambo 375th Reunion Luncheon at the adjacent Corinthian Yacht Club included keynote speaker, Society Historian the Rev. Dr. Kim-Eric Williams  on “The Legacy of New Sweden in a Woke World.”

Last year when we set prices for the “Rambo Family 375th Reunion” we continued The Swedish Colonial Society’s long standing policy of keeping prices low so as many as possible could participate. However, inflation has really impacted the costs of producing the event today.

If you are in a position that enables you to help us with a donation, we would appreciate you doing so be becoming 1) Patron – $100, 2) Sponsor – $75, 3) Booster – $50
